Growing up in a humble home, I learned the value of budgeting and stewardship early on. After my father’s passing, my mother entrusted me with managing our limited resources, which shaped my perspective on money and community conversations. This background has made me comfortable discussing topics that many shy away from, especially when it comes to finances.
Years later i join a women’s group as an associate that offers financial literacy training with a big bias to insurance. Over the weekend, I attended the HerCents Societe Audrey Annual Brunch led by the inspiring Audrey Tumwine Ndawula MBA . This event brought together women from various backgrounds, all focused on one word: freedom. The brunch was a vibrant celebration, filled with stories of resilience, growth, and success from the past year.
Listening to the journeys shared by these incredible women reinforced my belief in the power of community. It’s essential to foster open dialogues about financial literacy and independence, as these are crucial to living on our own terms.
As we continue to support one another, let’s remain intentional about these conversations. Together, we can encourage more women to break the barriers surrounding money, empowering them to achieve financial freedom.
